Lachung-Yumthang and the Zero point in Sikkim

Lachung- Yumthang and Zero point are lesser known places in India with exotic beauty that deserve a visit. Nestled in the Himalayan mountain range is this lesser known abode of beauty. It is also said that all roads are ends here and you will found it right when you will visit there. Situated thousands of meters above the sea level, the snow clad mountain ranges, the graciously flowing Teesta River and the breathtaking valley of flowers- North Sikkim is enticing. The journey from Lachung to Yumthang is picturesque in itself and there are many places to visit in Lachung as well- the waterfalls, the monasteries and the viewpoints. Lachung Gompa is one of the most picturesque gompas (Buddhist temples) in Sikkim. It is a short 30 minute walk uphill from the center of the settlement and the amazing backdrop of snow-capped peaks makes this a worth while stroll. This place attracts many pilgrims.A very old monastery that was built in the year 1880.

Visit Zero point, which is the last outpost of civilization. The road ends here (as already said above). Peaceful valley and is quite windy – there was not much to hear but just stay here for some time to enjoy the pure beauty of nature. With the majestic mountains and ice around – it was like being the only people in the world. Calm, quiet and a sense of insignificance – time seems to stand still here and you will experience the divine peace here.
